It's always something

Just received this email from RE office:
Unfortunately, you will not be able to start IVF this cycle, due to our lab closure. Because of the protocol that Dr. X has selected for you; which does not utilize any birth control pills we are not able to make any adjustments to your protocol.  You will have to wait for your next period to get started.

I am so frustrated. And sad. And angry. Something always comes up. Insurance, fibroids, dermoids, polyps, MTHFR, crappy embryos, and now lab closures. Why didn't they tell me when I called in my CD1 that it wasn't going to work out? They should have at least warned me on CD1. And not let me buy those dumb pee sticks. And not make me have to tell people at work because I had to get out of a trip and then train another person on the info so they could go on the trip in my place. And not let me mark up my calendar with potential retrieval/transfer days. And not get all hopeful. Fuck.

  2. I am so sorry. That seems so wholly inadequate to say, but I truly am so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine your disappointment. It seems so very unfair.

  3. I'm so sorry.

Also upset on your behalf that you had to find out from a voicemail after beginning the cycle, and that clinics close when bodies don't.

  5. wth! This makes me so angry. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Trying to schedule IVF is already hard without adding to it.

  7. I am so so sorry. You're totally right, it's ALWAYS some delay. It always feels that way (and is that way) in IF land. (((hug)))

Sidenote--I am officially a jerk and hadn't checked my email in forever, and just saw your email. Am responding.

  8. i am finally on a real computer and can say FFS, this is not okay. they should definitely have let you know sooner, maybe months sooner. my clinic also has annoying closures, but at least they are clear about when they are. i have been rage-ful on your behalf ever since reading this. xo
